Someone asks me about partner codes every couple of weeks. Usually the same question: can you get free trades or lower spreads?
Short answer: no. AvaTrade doesn't charge commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code won't affect it.
Partner code 128979 gets you access to the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Simple as that.
How much do you get?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
$2,000 adds $400.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Top tier is $14,000 on deposits over $100,000. Not many avatrade partner code 128979 traders reach that level.
UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Top tier reaches £11,200.
Minimum to open an account is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
The code field isn't obvious
During registration. Once you've filled in your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click on that text. A text box appears. Type **128979**.
Most people miss it because it doesn't look like a proper form field until you click.
If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Reach out to your account manager first. Request partner code 128979 be added. They handle this regularly.
You can't withdraw the bonus straight away
A trading volume condition applies.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Takes a while if you trade small. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
The deposit belongs to you. Withdraw it whenever you want. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.
Worth mentioning: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
